For those of you in the Washington DC metro area or on the Eastern Shore I’m having a gallery show at 701 Russell Avenue, Gaithersburg, MD, United States as part of the Best Medicine Rep Theater Company’s production of The Consul, The Tramp, and America’s Sweetheart; the show starts January 18th opening night, details at

Inspired by true events, The Consul, The Tramp, and America’s Sweetheart is set on the eve of World War II, when the nazi consul to Hollywood attempts to shut down production on Charlie Chaplin’s controversial first talkie, The Great Dictator.

Written by Best Medicine Rep’s artistic director John Morogiello, the script has won a number of national awards, including the Julie Harris Playwriting Award and the Dayton Playhouse FutureFest. It premiered at Oldcastle Theatre Company and was subsequently produced at Theatre 40 in Beverly Hills. The Best Medicine Rep production, which runs from January 18 through February 10, 2018, will be the play’s premiere in Maryland. Directing the production will be Stan Levin, who directed Best Med’s hit at the Capital Fringe Festival Blue Over You.
